The government approved a comprehensive plan for the widespread introduction of AI in schools

The resolution comes into force from the date of its signing. By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 18, 2026, a Comprehensive Plan of Measures aimed at the widespread introduction of artificial intelligence into the secondary education system for 2026–2029 was approved, Zakon.kz reports. The comprehensive plan provides for several areas: — Design of a National Educational AI Platform; — Implementation of a pilot project for the National Educational AI Platform. — Project management and coordination. — Regulatory support. — Monitoring, analytics and performance evaluation. Expected results from the implementation of the plan: - use of an AI module in at least 500 pilot small schools, which should subsequently become part of the National Educational AI Platform, in the subjects “Mathematics”, “Digital Literacy”, “Kazakh Language” or “Russian Language” (September-December 2026 - at least 10 schools, January-March 2027 - at least 50 schools, April–May 2027 - at least 440 schools); — creation and commissioning of the National Educational AI Platform — July 2028; — reducing the administrative burden on teachers through the introduction of AI assistants and digitalization of educational processes
