Kaz-LLM includes more than 150 billion tokens in Kazakh, Russian, English and Turkish, collected from publicly available sources. The developers trained two versions of the model - with 8 (8B) and 70 billion (70B) parameters, which are already available for non-commercial use on the Hugging Face website. In addition, Kaz-LLM provides data storage within the country, which helps protect privacy and create value at the local level. In May 2024, VEON, Beeline Kazakhstan, GSMA and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center signed a memorandum of cooperation to explore the development of AI and language technologies for small language groups.
